Grantees addressing health inequities receive technical assistance and support as they strengthen and expand assets and partnerships, develop community-driven plans, and take action toward systems change. Urban Hope partners with low- and extremely low-income families who seek affordable rental housing and/or homeownership in Richmond's East End. They also offer it to tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that work with volunteers with the goal to improve the health of their community. Programming provides primarily Black and Brown youth in Richmond's underserved communities with skills, knowledge, and expertise to changes systems that have created economic, environmental, and racial inequities. Our portfolio includes iconic brands such as Yes, I'll Help The Creative Workforce Innovation Initiative introduces youth and young adults to the arts (filmmaking in particular), teaching them technical skills for careers in the industry and connecting them with jobs in the field. Eligible repairs are completed by County approved licensed building contractors, and are restricted to repairs necessary to improve the health, safety, and well-being of the household or contribute to the structural integrity and preservation of the home.
